Funeral Service As per Shirley’s wishes she was cremated and no services are scheduled.

Burial Service A private family burial will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa at a later date.

Those left to honor Shirley’s memory are her husband, Alan of Newton; son, Chris (Jenna) Atwood of West Des Moines, Iowa; her four granddaughters, Payton, Riley, Reagan and Madeline; and sister, Sondra Ripple of Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Shirley enjoyed reading, gardening and walking
