BABY BURNED AT COLFAX. - Word was received here on Monday evening that the infant child of Harry Kinsell, of Colfax, had burned to death. The inquest held on Tuesday revealed the following facts. Mrs. Harry Kinsell was obliged to leave her children alone on Monday evening for a short while she went to get some provisions from town and that during her absence the youngest child, Clarence, about two and a half years old, got hold of a box of matches and set fire to his clothing which also set the carpet and bed on fire. When the mother arrived home her baby boy had enough life in its little body to reach out for his mother but soon died. The remains were buried yesterday afternoon.

There can be no blame attached to any one, except the worthless husband who deserted his wife and left her to make a living for herself and babies and thus obliged her to leave them the way she did. It is a sad affair and the citizens of Colfax are justly indignant. ~ The Newton (Iowa) Journal. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 18 93.
