COLFAX -- Helen Williams, 92, formerly of Colfax, died Monday, July 12, at I.O.O.F. Care Center in Mason City.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at McKeever Cemetery with the Rev. Phil Butler officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax from noon until 2 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Colfax Senior Center or First Baptist Church.

Helen Elliott Williams was born on July 15, 1911, in Fredrecksburg, Ind. She came to Iowa with her parents at the age of 5 and attended schools in Marshall, Story and Jasper counties. She married Ralph Williams in Newton on Jan. 24, 1930. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Colfax.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Joan and Dean Koon of Urbandale; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Shirley Williams of Clear Lake; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Ralphie, three brothers and three sisters. ~ Newton (IA) Daily News, Wednesday, July 14, 2004
