Hazel D. Tice

ATLANTIC -- Hazel D. Tice, 92, a former longtime resident of Monroe, died Monday, March 20, at the Heritage House in Atlantic.

Funeral services for Miss Tice, who owned and operated a meat market and grocery store in Monroe for many years, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Monroe United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Jerry Mc Gee, pastor of the church, will conduct services and burial will be in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Rolands Funeral Home in Atlantic is in charge of arrangements.

Surviving are a nephew, Herchul Tice of Sioux City and a niece, Rose Ann Seivers of Altoona, as well as several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, John Ralph, Robert Ray and William Edward Tice.

Miss Tice was a member of the Atlantic First United Methodist Church.

The daughter of L. J. H. “Line” and Amanda E. Stroup Tice, she was born March 22, 1896 in Monroe and was educated in Monroe schools.

She had resided in Heritage House in Atlantic since November, 1970.
