SOUTH TWIN LAKES -- Funeral services for Fred J. Sage, 61, of South Twin Lakes, a former resident of Newton, were held Monday, Sept. 18, at
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rockwell City.

The Rev. Robert Bresemann and the Rev. Jerry Doellinger conducted services. Burial was in Rosehill Cemetery in Rockwell City.

Palmer and Sons Funeral Home in Rockwell City handled arrangements.

He died of cancer Friday at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

Survivors are his wife, Darlene; four sons, Terry of Littleton, Colo., Greg of Cedar Rapids, Scott of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Rodney of Davis, Calif.; a grandson; three sisters, Ann Boget of Grinnell, Grace Hanson of Pomeroy and Delores Backstrom of Emmetsburg; and two brothers, George of Pomeroy and Don of West Bend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Merle, and two infant sisters.

Mr. Sage, a Navy veteran, had been sales representative for the Newton Vernon Co. in Rockwell City and later was national sales manager for the Vernon Co. in Newton.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Hilbert Sage, he was born Dec. 10, 1927 near Fonda and was educated in Pomeroy Schools.

He was married to Darlene Wiemers Oct. 5, 1951 in Palmer.
