Lena M. Strovers

LAUREL -- Lena M. Bell Strovers, 89, of Laurel, a former resident of Kellogg and Newton, died of a heart condition Saturday afternoon, Aug. 5, at Friendship Manor in Grinnell.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Reese Chapel in Newton.

Evelyn Larson of Grinnell will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Tuesday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions to a fund in Mrs. Strovers' name may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are a daughter, Alberta (Mrs. Virgil) Bollhoefer of Laurel; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Emma (Mrs. Dove) Bell of New Castle, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Strovers, a homemaker, had worked at One Minute Washer Co. in Newton.

The daughter of Fulton and Dora Bell, she was born April 1, 1900 in Wayne County, Ky.

She was married to Milton Strovers Sept. 1, 1917 in Kellogg.

Mrs. Strovers also had resided in Carlisle and Grinnell
