Wilma Audrey (Walker) Davis, 96, of Newton died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at Careage of Newton.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Tim Johnson of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted in her name or to Skiff Medical Center Auxiliary.

The daughter of Milo Walker and Mary (Banks) Walker, she was born April 8, 1909, in Hamilton. She graduated from Lovilia High School in 1927. In August 1927, she married Ralph Davis near Lovilia. She worked for the Maytag Company in the assembly department for 27 years.

Mrs. Davis attended the Methodist Church in Lovilia and was a member of the UAW Local 997 Retirees, Skiff Medical Center Auxiliary, Jasper County Senior Citizens and Maytag 25-year Club. She enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans for her family. She also enjoyed making ceramic pieces at the Jasper County Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed taking trips and activities with friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Geraldine A. (Russell) Priaulx of Newton; a son-in-law, Clayton Newell of Newton; seven granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Donna Jean Newell; a great-great-grandson; and an infant brother.
