Rites Wednesday For L. C. Jones
Colfax – Funeral services for Lexaus C. Jones, 67, of Des Moines, former Colfax resident, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Colfax Christian church.
The Rev. Tom Foglesong of Des Moines conducted the services. Burial was held in Colfax cemetery.
Mr. Jones, who died Monday at Des Moines General hospital, is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Jessie Mae) Reinman of Sunnyvale Calif., and Mrs. Paul (Laverne) Sinnard of Pleasantville; a son, Lexaus C. Jones, Jr. of Pontiac, Ill.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Paul and Donald of Colfax, James of East Moline, Ill., and Wren of Long Beach, Calif.; and three sisters Mrs. F E. (Juanita) Wilson of Des Moines, Mrs. Clyde (Julia) Hendee and Mrs. Raymond (Eleanor) Zachary of Colfax.
Mr. Jones was a member of the Masonic Order, Welfare Lodge 628 at Norwalk, the Consistory at Des Moines and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. William S. Jones, he was born June 16, 1893 at Valeria.
Educated in Colfax schools, he was married to Dolly Agnes Main January 21, 1914.
Mr. Jones, a Colfax resident the majority of his life, was a retired railroad employe.
