COLFAX - Gertrude Warrick, 87, of Colfax died Monday, Aug. 18, at Mitchell Village in Mitchellville.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Colfax with Pastors Phil Butler and Dan DuRocher officiating. Burial will be at McKeever Cemetery.
Visitation will begin Wednesday after 2 p.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the Colfax First Baptist Church.
The daughter of Faye and Margaret (Lynch) Pierce, she was born June 17, 1916, in West Des Moines. On Nov. 14, 1934, she married Roy W. Warrick in Colfax. She was a lifetime resident of the area and a 50-year member of the Colfax First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Mrs. Warrick enjoyed cooking and baking.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Mona Warrick of Colfax; two daughters and sons-in-law, VondaLee and Walt Williams and Joy and Joe Conley, all of Colfax; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Warrick and two brothers, Lenard Pierce and Willis Pierce, all of Colfax.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister and seven brothers.
