ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Kristy Kay VanRoekel-Mullinnix, 34, of Orange Park, Fla., formerly of Newton, died Sunday, Aug. 3, in Jacksonville, Fla.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Duane Skidmore of the Reasnor United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in rural Newton.

Friends may call after noon Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted in her name for her daughter Aubri's college fund.

The daughter of Dwight and Kathy (Snook) VanRoekel, she was born April 15, 1969, in Newton. She graduated from Lynnville-Sully High School and graduated from Iowa Methodist School of Radiologic Technology in 1988. In 1995, she married Tom Mullinnix. She was employed as an x-ray technician, MRI and CT technician.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Aubri Mullinnix of Orange Park, Fla., two sisters and a brother-in-law, Laurie and Mark Hardin of Orange Park, Fla., and Tammy Koehn of Newton; her maternal grandfather, Clyde Snook of Newton; and her parents, also of Newton.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Maggie Mullinnix; paternal grandparents, Harry and Maggie VanRoekel; and her maternal grandmother, Gerry Snook.
