DARBY, Mont. - Michael James Reeves, 26, of Darby, Mont., formerly of Monroe, died Friday, July 11, of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident north of Victor, Mont.

Funeral services were held July 15 at the Daly-Leach Funeral Home and Crematory in Hamilton. Burial was at Lone Pine Cemetery in Darby, Mont.

The family suggests memorials to the Michael James Reeves Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 339, Darby, Mont. 59829.

The son of Steven and Vivian (Hume) Reeves, he was born Nov. 25, 1976, in Newton. He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Newton. He attended Monroe schools until 1993, when the family moved to Montana. After completing high school, he served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Groton, Conn., and on the nuclear submarine Providence. Following his discharge, he returned to Montana and enrolled at the University of Montana in Missoula. On March 25, 2003, he married Mary Kraus in New Orleans, La.

Survivors include his wife; parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Charity and Chad Dembisky of Knoxville; and grandparents, Dale and AdaBeth Hume of Monroe.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Norvell Reeves, and grandmother and step-grandfather, Josephine and Fred Aalbers.
