Donald R. Culver, 86, formerly of Lambs Grove, died Monday, June 23, of heart failure at USA Health Care in Newton.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Newton Union Cemetery. Pence- Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted in his name.

The son of Raymond and Rose (Petershon) Culver, he was born March 19, 1917, in Creston. On July 23, 1938, he married Eddra Nina Neleman in Newton. He worked for Culver & Son Furniture Store and for Howard Peters as a carpenter. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a life member of the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed golf, camping and enjoyed music, especially the "Big Band" sound. He was a longtime resident of the Newton area.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sharen and Mike Culver-Hubler of Rock Creek West, Kellogg; and a sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Richard Thomas of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Thelma.
