Elmer Travis Services Set
Services for Elmer V. Travis, 67, of 1643 Lyon St. will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in McKeever Cemetery at Colfax.
Mr. Travis died Saturday at Broadlawns Polk county Hospital. He had been ill five year with asthma.
Born at Marshalltown, he was a Des Moines resident 44 years, and was a custodian for the Des Moines schools before his retirement in 1958. He attended Central Bible Church.
Surviving are his widow, Frances; six daughters, Mrs. Roma Lovejoy, Mrs. June Simon, Mrs. Ruth Branchcomb, Mrs. Gladys Dennis, and Mrs. Beverly Ackelson, all of Des Moines, and Mrs. Betty Tonnanaar of Plattsmouth, Neb.; a son, James of Des Moines, two sisters, a brother, 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
