Vivian Evans Dies
Colfax – Vivian Evans, a longtime resident of Colfax, died while visiting her daughter in Denver, Colo.

Vivian M. Evans services Thursday at Colfax churchColfax – Mrs. John (Vivian Mae) Evans, 69, a longtime resident of Colfax, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Colfax.
The Rev. Jim Pemble, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Colfax Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to a fund in Mrs. Evans’ name will be accepted. They may be left at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Marcia) Jordan of Lakewood, Colo., and Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Brown of Colfax; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a brother, Edwin Jones of Ankeny.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1978 and a brother, John.
Mrs. Evans was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
The daughter of Samuel E. and Sadie M. McWhirter Jones, she was born Feb. 22, 1913 in Colfax, was a 1930 graduate of Colfax High School and was graduated from the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls.
She was married June 9, 1935 in Colfax. ~ The Newton Daily News, July 7, 1982.
