MULLENEAUX, MCWHIRTER, RICHARDS, WATKINS, TWEDT, DAUGHTERY, BURTON

William M. Mulleneaux, 80, of 509 W. 2nd St. S., a superintendent of the die casting department at the Maytag Co. before his retirement in 1970, died Friday evening, March 8, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the Reese Chapel.

The Rev. H. Eugene Cedarholm, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to the First Lutheran Church may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Margaret of Newton, four daughters, Mrs. Norman (Martha) Watkins of Camdenton, Mo., Mrs. Alan (Myrna) Twedt of Altoona, Mrs. Edwin (Susan) Daughtery of Martensdale and Mrs. Dennis (Sharon) Burton of Newton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Mrs. Norman (Mary) Lanphier, in 1971, two brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Mulleneaux, an employe [sic] of the Maytag Co. for 43 years, was a member of the First Lutheran Church and Maytag Management Club. He had served on the Employee Council at the Maytag Co., and served on the church council and had taught Bible study classes.

The son of William and Mary McWhirter Mulleneaux, he was born Dec. 21, 1904 in Colfax.

He was married to Margaret Richards March 23, 1928 in Monroe. ~ The Newton Daily News, March 11, 1985.
