Frank L. White, 60, of 510 N. 3rd Ave. E. died Monday, June 9, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with Pastor A. B. Sudbrock of the Newton Baptist Temple in Newton and Pastor Gary Lamb and Pastor James Holmes officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted in his name and may be left at the funeral home.

The son of John R. and Emma E. (Watkins) White, he was born May 9, 1943, in Newton. He was a graduate of Newton Senior High School. On May 15, 1965, he married Fern K. Dobbs in Newton.

He was a press operator at the Newton Daily News and was an auxiliary sheriff in Waterloo. He enjoyed preaching at nursing homes and also enjoyed woodworking. Mr. White was a member of the Newton Baptist Temple.

Survivors include a son, Jeffrey White of Newton; a daughter, Angela White of Newton; three brothers, Robert H. White and James W. White, both of Newton, and Charles R. White of Waterloo; a stepbrother, Leslie Dgise; a half-brother, Bruce E. White; a half-sister, Barbara J. Thomas; a step-sister, Louise Janes and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a brother, John White Jr.; half-brother, Barry L. White; and a sister, Ethel May White.
