MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Dale William Long, 74, of Mooresville, N.C., died Sunday, April 27, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday at Mooresville ARP Church with the Rev. Gerald R. Hallman officiating. Burial will follow in the Huntersville Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home of Mooresville, N.C., is handling arrangements.

The son of William Maurice and Ethel (Lee) Long, he was born Feb. 2, 1929, in Newton. He retired after 31 years of service with the City of Charlotte/Mecklenburg County, where he served as chief zoning administrator. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the VFW in Statesville, the Elks Club of Salisbury and a member of Mooresville ARP Church. He married Elise Beukema in 1952.
Survivors include his wife; his children, Craig L. Long and wife, Jackie of Mooresville, N.C., Nancy L. Hargrett and husband, Lynwood of Cornelius, N.C., and Brian W. Long and wife, Lorrie of Mooresville, N.C.; a sister, Lois Carter of Monroe; and three grandchildren.
