COLFAX - Edward Phillip Berg, 58, of Colfax died Saturday, April 19, at his home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax with Father Phil Cardenzana officiating. Burial will be at Colfax Cemetery. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax is handling arrangements.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the church where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. A Wake Service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the church. Memorials will be accepted to the Cancer Society.

The son of Arloe and Marcella (Forrett) Berg, he was born Sept. 29; 1944, in Des Moines. He was a 1962 graduate of Colfax High School.

On Dec. 10, 1966, he married Kathleen Kay Baerenwald in Colfax. Mr. Berg retired from the John Deere Company, the Ankeny Plant, and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax. He enjoyed golf, bowling and fishing.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Cindy Berg of Sidney, Neb.; a daughter and son-in-law, Kari Ann and Tom McKay of Broomfield, Colo.; two grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Berg of Des Moines and Dale Berg of Colfax; a sister, Marlene Sigmund of Altoona; and his mother of Colfax.

He was preceded in death by his father and his wife.
