A large number attended the funeral held for Mrs. Fred Pahre yesterday at the Methodist Church. Rev. W. P. Stoddard officiated. The singers were Mrs. Nona Kuepper, Miss Bertha ***, George M. Allen and Earl Whitmore. The bearers were Phillip Kling, Leon Quaintance, Ed Harvey, George Hess, J. E. Cross and William Yost.

The interment was in the cemetery at Galesburg and the services at the grave were conducted by the Rebekahs.

Mrs. Pahre died last Thursday at her home on North Vine Street after less than two week’s illness. Just the day before she was out attending to her work as collector for her husband’s business with a pleasant, kindly smile, for all whom she met, as she always had whether it was in the morning, noon or night.

Sadly will she be missed by her friends and neighbors and the home is darkened for the husband and two little sons as only the giving away of the wife and mother can make it.

Ida Thomas was the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Thomas. She was born in Licking County, Ohio, in 1871. At her death she was thirty-six years, 8 months and 14 days old.

When a small child she came with her parents to Jasper County. In March 1893 she became the wife of Fred Pahre. For some time after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Pahre lived on a farm near Galesburg, but later come to this city to make their home.

When she was thirteen years old she joined the Methodist Episcopal Church and was a member of that organization at the time of her death. She was also a member of Margaret Rebekah Lodge of this city and of the order of Eastern Star at Galesburg.

Mrs. Pahre had not the best of health any time during her life and at times had been a great sufferer, but she has a happy disposition and made the best of everything and always felf the deepest interest and love for her home and its care. Besides her husband and sons, Fred, age thirteen years, and Huburr, who is seven years old, she leaves a father and four sisters, Mrs. C. C. McConkey of Oklahoma, Mrs. Ben Davis of Carbondale, Colo., Mrs. H. Allen and Mrs. Ambrose King, Centralia, Kansas. The last three were here to attend the funeral.
