Mrs. Kennington’s maiden name was Albertina Smith. Her home in her early days was Chicago and later in Colorado. Ten years ago after her marriage to John M. Kennington she came with her husband to Jasper County and they have made their home in Sherman Township. Her farm home kept her busy but she made friends for all loved her for her great kindness. She was always so thoughtful of others and was extremely kind to animals and all saw that their needs were provided for.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Kennington had always been in very good health and did not know of her affliction until just a short time before she went into the hospital at Des Moines. She was there for treatment a week before the operation and everything seemed very well with her until just before the end came.
