Dr. Stone, Sully, Dies
Rites for Sully Physician, 58, To Be Conducted Thursday Afternoon
Sully, Ia. (Special to The Daily News) – Dr. Roy D. Stone, 58, practicing physician at Sully for the past ten years, died Tuesday afternoon at 3:20 p.m. at the Skiff Memorial Hospital at Newton where he had been a patient three weeks. A throat infection, together with rheumatism and pneumonia caused his death
Funeral services are to be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Reformed church in Sully. Rev. H. LeRoy Kinser of Newton will be in charge of the service as there is no resident pastor of the Sully church. The body will be taken to Washington D. C. for burial.
Dr. Stone was born July 7, 1882, at Lawrence, Kan., and spent his boyhood in Washington, D. C. He practiced in Covington, Okla., 13 years before coming to Sully.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Helen Cuter and a son, Roy D. Stone, Jr., both of Sully; two brothers, Dr. Charles A. Stone of San Pedro, Calif., Edmund M. Stone of New York; three sisters, Etta Stone of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Rella Rokes of New York and Mrs. Nellie DeBaus of Washington, D. C. Mrs. DeBaus arrived here last week to be with her brother.
