Mulbrook Child, 5, Dies Sunday Of Pneumonia
Kellogg, Ia. (Special to The Daily News) – Shirley Kay Mulbrook, 5-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mulbrook who live a mile and a half west of Kellogg, died at 11:30 o’clock Sunday evening at her home. She had been ill of pneumonia several days.
Because there had been no attending physician, Coroner Ralph V. Toland was called. He said there would be no inquest.
Funeral services are to be conducted Wednesday at 2 o’clock at the Murdoch Funeral home at Newton by the Rev. Charles Hollis, pastor of the Four Square Gospel church. Interment will be in the Newton Union cemetery.
The child was born in Newton April 25, 1935 and the family moved to the Kellogg community a year ago this coming March.
Surviving are her parents, a brother, Richard, Jr., a sister, Jean Ann, her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Finch of near Kellogg and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Emma Mulbrook of Newton.

Hold Rites for Mulbrook Child
Funeral services for Shirley Kay Mulbrook, 5-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mulbrook of near Kellogg, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Murdoch Funeral home by the Rev. Charles Hollis, pastor of the Four Square Gospel church.
Pallbearers were Gerald Marshall, Francis Mulbrook, Wayne Richards and Joe Finch. Interment was in the Newton Union cemetery.
Mrs. Earl Trout, accompanied by Mrs. R. L. Jackson, sang “In the Garden” and “Jewels.”
The child was born in Newton April 25, 1935, and the family moved to the Kellogg community about a year ago. When she was yet very young she contracted pneumonia and since that tie her health had been poorly. Her death was caused by a heart attack.
Surviving are her parents, a brother Richard, Jr., a sister, Jean Ann, her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Finch of near Kellogg and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Emma Mulbrook of Newton.
