MONROE - Agnes Ross, 93, of Monroe died Sunday, March 2, at USA Healthcare in Newton. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Monroe United Methodist Church in Monroe with the Rev. Harold Koughn officiating. Burial will be at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe is handling arrangements.

Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will be available from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Memorials will be accepted to the Monroe United Methodist Church or to Monroe Kiwanis Club.

The daughter of Ransom and Martha (McKinney) Simpson, she was born March 6, 1909, in Reasnor. She attended school in Reasnor. On March 12, 1927, she married Robert Ross in Reasnor. She worked for PAG Seeds in Monroe and cooked for Monroe Kiwanis Club. Mrs. Ross was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church, Chat a Bit Club and Monroe American Veterans Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Ruth Ross of Newton; a daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Paul Ray of Newton; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Chester and Pat Simpson of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, a sister and two brothers.
