PELLA – Wilma M. Maasdam, 86, of Pella, formerly of Sully, died of heart failure Friday, Feb. 14, at the Pella Regional Health Center in Pella.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Reformed Church in Sully with Pastor Roger Punt and Pastor Brice Hoyt officiating. Burial will be at Sully Cemetery. Garden
Chapel Funeral Home in Sully and Pella are handling arrangements. Flowers will be accepted today at the Sully Garden Chapel Funeral Home.

Friends may call today at the Sully Garden Chapel Funeral Home where the family will be available from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the First Reformed Church of Sully.

The daughter of Harry and Johanna (Paltzer) Van Wyk, she was born March 11, 1916, in Marion County. On Jan. 6, 1938, she married Fred L. Maasdam in Harvey and was a homemaker. She lived on a farm north of Sully for 40 years and in Sully for 27 years. She spent the past 15 months in Pella. Mrs. Maasdam enjoyed working with flowers, especially violets, and was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sully.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet L. Carter of Moravia; a son and daughter-in-law, Harlan and Carleen Maasdam of Lynnville; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Metcalf of Mountain Home, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Dora Van Wyk of Oskaloosa and a brother-in-law, Leonard Maasdam of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and brother-in-law.
