Jack L. Lake, 66, of 613 E. 4th St. N. died of pneumonia Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held at a later date. The body has been cremated. Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

The son of Clifford and Gladys (Cook) Lake, he was born May 4, 1936, in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from high school in Cedar Rapids. On Nov. 16, 1963, he married Linda Jarnagin in Cedar Rapids.

He worked construction for many years and retired from the pressroom of the Newton Daily News. He was an auto racing enthusiast and a fan of the Chicago Cubs. Mr. Lake served a number of years in the Iowa Air National Guard. He was a resident of Cedar Rapids until 1978, when he moved to Newton.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Jon Lake of Newton and Randy Griffin of Kellogg and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
