Woman, 69, Dies Today
Mrs. Laura Faircloth Rites To Be Conducted Thursday Afternoon
Mrs. Laura Faircloth, 69, 202 East Fourth street North, died this morning at 6:45 o’clock at the Skiff Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since last Wednesday. Mrs. Faircloth had been in failing health for two years and the past two months had been in a serious condition suffering with a malignant disease.
Funeral services are to be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Morgan Funeral home by Dr. L. B. Logan, pastor of the First Methodist church. Interment will be in the Newton Union cemetery.
Born In Indiana
Laura Belle Parsons was born in Elrod, Ind., daughter of William and Mary Parsons, Oct. 16, 1871. She came to Jasper county about 1885, and had lived here since then.
On Oct. 8, 1891, she was wed to Eugene Birchard and to this union was born one son, Carroll W. Birchard. Mr. Birchard died in 1927.
Later, in 1932, she was wed to J. Faircloth who preceded her in death two years ago.
O.E.S. Member
She was a member of the First Methodist church, O.E.S., and of the O.D.O. social club.
Surviving are her son, one granddaughter, Mary Birchard, three sisters, Mrs. Frank Hammer, Mrs. P. E. Coon and Mrs. Charles Woodward, all of Kellogg and one brother, W. T. Parsons of Malcolm.

Faircloth Rites Held Thursday
Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Faircloth, 69, who died Tuesday morning at the Skiff Memorial hospital, were conducted Thursday afternoon at the Morgan Funeral home by Dr. L. B. Logan, pastor of the First Methodist church. Interment was in the Newton Union cemetery.
Pallbearers were T. L. Birchard, O. R. Chase, Rev. J. F. Phillips, Elmer Pickens, Elmer Starrett and Dr. O. N. Green.
Mrs. R. A. Ferring, accompanied by Miss Lois Hundling, sang “It Is Well With My Soul.”
