Jerry Ehler Dies at 79
Kellogg Farmer Succumbs At Home This Morning; Ill A Year
Jerry Ehler, 79-year-old farmer living 7 miles northwest of Kellogg, died at his home this morning at 10:45 o’clock.
Mr. Ehler had been in failing health since having pneumonia a year ago.
Jurgen (Jerry) Ehler was born on the Ilse of Fehmarn off the coast of Germany Jan. 20, 1862, and came to the United States at the age of 20 years. He has resided north of town the past 53 years.
Anna Sengerob became his wife in 1888 at Rock Island, Ill., and to this union were born five children.
Surviving are his wife and five children, Mrs. Louis LaFrenz of Laurel, Mrs. George Paul of Gilman, Agnes at home, Ed north of Kellogg and Elmer of Gilman, 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jerry Ehler Rites To Be Held Sunday
Kellogg, Ia. (Special to The Daily News) – Funeral services for Jerry Ehler, 79, who died Thursday morning at his home, will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 o’clock at the Kellogg Christian church.
Rev. W. H. Blancke of Newton will be in charge and interment will be Our Silent City.

Ehler Rites At Kellogg
Final rites for Jurgen (Jerry) Ehler, 79, of near Kellogg, were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Christian church at Kellogg by Rev. W. H. Blancke, pastor emeritus of the Newton Lutheran church. Interment was in Our Silent City.
Pallbearers were John Cross, Marion Hammer, Tom Nesmith, Louis Kling, Henry Freese and George Albers.
Mrs. Russell Dunn accompanied by Mrs. Loys Hill sang “Going Down the Valley” and “Nearer My God to Thee”.
Mr. Ehler was born on the Isle of Fehmarn off the coast of Germany Jan. 20, 1862, and came to the United States at the age of 20 years. He had resided north of Kellogg the past 53 years. He died March 20, 1941 at his home.
He was wed to Anna Sengorob in 1888 at Rock Island, Ill., and to this union were born five children.
