Woman, 64, Dies Today
Mrs. Cliff Ratcliff Suffers Heart Attack In Physician’s Office
Mrs. Cliff Ratcliff, 64, suffered a heart attack and died this morning about 10:45 while she was waiting in the office of a local physician for treatment.
The Newton woman, who lives four miles east and one mile south of town, had been in poor health two weeks and was to undergo further examination at the doctor’s office this morning.
Mrs. Ratcliff was born in Ohio but came to this vicinity when quite young and had lived practically all her life in this community. She was wed March 10, 1897 to Cliff Ratcliff. No children were born to this union.
She was a member of the Amboy grange and of the First Methodist church.
Surviving are her husband, two sisters, Ida Ladd of Newton and Mrs. Edwin White of New Sharon and a brother, O. J. Ladd of New Sharon.

Mrs. Ratcliff Rites To Be held Tuesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Cliff Ratcliff of near Newton, who died Friday, will b e conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Newton First Methodist church. Dr. L. B Logan, pastor, will be in charge, and interment will be in the Friends cemetery at Lynnville.
The rites originally were scheduled for Monday but upon word that relatives from a distance were arriving, were changed until Tuesday.

Mrs. Ratcliff Services Held
Funeral services for Mrs. Cliff Ratcliff, 64, were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Newton First Methodist church, Dr. L. B. Logan, pastor, in charge.
Pallbearers were John Vinall, ___r Miller, Joe Muilenberg, Burr __nel, Everett Lanphier and ___ Moore. Interment was in the Friends cemetery at Lynnville.
Mrs. L. B. Logan, accompanied by Lois Hundling, sang “He Leadeth Me” and “No Night There”. Mrs. Jay Parsons and Mrs. Everett ___ier arranged the flowers.
Ella Dora Ladd was born June 27, 1876 in Cadiz, O., and died March 21, 1941 at Newton, Ia. She had been ailing and succumbed while waiting in the office of a local physician.
She came to the Newton community when quite young and had lived practically all her life her. She was wed March 10, 1897 to Cliff Ratcliff.
She was a member of Amboy grange and of the First Methodist church.
Surviving are her husband, two sisters, Ida Ladd of Newton and Mrs. Edwin White of New Sharon and a brother, O. J. Ladd of New Sharon.
Unable to attend funeral services because of illness were Mr. and Mrs. Edwin White and O. J. Ladd of New Sharon.
Those coming from a distance to attend funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Miller of Los Angeles, Calif, Calif.; Dr. and Mrs. Willis Crews of Redfield, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Luther Pemberton of Mingo; Mr. Grove Hawk of Fairfield; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rodgers, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Williams, and Mrs. Maretta Harvey of Oskaloosa; Mrs. Frank Blackledge and Emma Beyers of Des Moines; Mrs. Clara Brigs, Lorena Briggs, Mr. and Mrs. C. t. Cope, Mrs Dave Versteegh, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ladd and family of New Sharon; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Montgomery, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Brenneman of Brooklyn; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Runner of Marshalltown.
