World War Soldier, Formerly Of Colfax, Succumbs Wednesday
Colfax, Ia. (Special to The Daily News) – Keith Burnett, formerly of Colfax, died at the Fitz-Simons Tuberculosis hospital in Denver Colo., at 3:43 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. He had been a patient at the hospital for 17 years.
Mr. Burnett made his home in Colfax before the world war. Returning from army service at the close of the war in poor health, he was a patient at Glendale sanitarium near Iowa City for a while and later went to Denver. Colo., with his family.
He had been critically ill for two weeks, and part of that time he was confined to an oxygen tent. His mother, Mrs. Arminta Burnett of Colfax, and a brother, Eugene Burnett, went to Denver early this week and arrived at the bedside Tuesday.
Surviving relatives include his wife, the former Anna Hansen of Exira, Ia., two grown daughters, all of Denver; his mother, two brothers, Eugene of Colfax, and John Burnett, Newton electrician; and two sisters, Mrs. Harry Barbour of Colfax and Mrs. Mark Bridge of Independence, Ia.
Funeral services will be conducted at Denver Saturday.
