The son of Harold Glasford and Mary (Keyes) Glasford, Larry was born on May 31, 1944, in Albia, Iowa. He grew up playing football and discovered his all-time favorite hobby, fishing. He graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1962, and Larry was a proud alumni. For the rest of his life, Larry was always involved in class reunion planning. Larry spent his career at the Post Office in Newton, he worked hard and got to become friends with many of those who would stop in the Post Office. Larry will always be remembered as a man who could talk to anyone. He may have been a little stubborn, and he wasn’t opposed to saying what was on his mind, but Larry truly enjoyed his life and all the people closest to him. In his spare time, Larry loved to fish. He would go anytime, anywhere, and he hardly needed an excuse. Fishing took him to Michigan, South Dakota, Minnesota, Missouri, and even Canada. The memories made on the water were some of Larry’s most cherished.

Those left to honor Larry include his wife of 38 years; Marianne (Lester) Glasford, siblings; Richard Glasford, Cindy Glasford, Gary Glasford, and Fran Lehman, children; Lisa (Matt) Sanders, Jill Rhoden, and Eric Soutter, grandchildren; Brooke Williams, Darrick Van Sickle, Jacob Rhoden, Wyatt Glasford, Andrew Owens, Dylan Soutter, and Laci Rolfes, great grandchildren; Maverick and Paxson, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Larry in death were his parents, Harold and Mary.
