Alan C. Ross
February 24, 1945 - August 19, 2023Alan Charles Ross, age 78, passed away Saturday, August 19th, 2023 at the MercyOne in Newton after a short stay in hospice. Per Alan’s wishes there will be a small private family service held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to MercyOne in Newton or WesleyLife Hospice to honor the excellent care they gave in his final days.
Alan is survived by the love of his life Mary Ross of Monroe, Ia. His two sons Wesley (Chrissy) Ross of Washington, Iowa; Nathan (Stacey) Ross of Newton and his Grandchildren Olivia (Paul) Doehrmann of Amana; Damon Ross of Newton; Avery Ross (Khaelia Williams) of Marion, Iowa. His siblings Ramona Sedlmayr of Bagley, WI; Laura Duke of Florida, Leta Duncan of Lancaster, WI; Nelson Ross of Waterloo, IA and Beverly Ross of Illinois and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Loren and Marjorie (DeWitt) Ross and his brother Jay Ross
Alan was born in Prairie Du Chien, WI to Loren and Marjorie Ross from Bagley, WI. Alan was in the service from 1962-1968, where he served time in Germany. After returning to the states, he married Mary (Klein) Ross on November 20, 1965, in Mt. Hope, WI. Al and Mary later moved to Monroe, Iowa where Al worked at Newton Manatts for 38 years. Al loved hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and he had a deep passion for Budweiser and his wife's cooking. Al was well loved by all of his family he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. His grandchildren adored him, he was truly the greatest grandfather you could ask for.
