Eli McQuiston, former resident of Baxter but who for the twenty-years has been a resident of Maxwell, died Christmas day at his home in Maxwell after a long illness, having suffered for several years with brain affection. The funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon at Maxwell and were in charge of the Masonic Lodge of that place, of which the deceased was a member, he having transferred his membership from here a number of years ago.
The remains were brought to Baxter for burial in Restland cemetery and were receive by local Masons, who escorted the deceased brother to his final resting place, H. S. Douns; O. E. Cunningham; P. J. Coal; C. D. Connell; C. C. Webb; and C E. Davey, being the active pall bearers. There were no services at the grave, but the casket was opened that the friends might have a final look.
Mr. McQuiston is survived by his widow and two foster daughters, Mrs. Guy Kline of Valeria, and Mrs. Pulis of Des Moines. Owing to the intense cold weather, not many were present at the interment.
