Mrs. W. H. Smith Dies
Funeral Services Held Privately at Her Home
Mrs. Olive Smith, widow of William H. Smith, died at the home of her son George Smith, with whom she has made her home for the past several years.
Mrs. Smith, who was 71 years of age, suffered a stroke of paralysis last July and since that time she has been in ailing health. She was not taken critically ill, however, until a day after Christmas and since that time she has been considered serious.
Mrs. Smith was born and reared in new York and on July 25, 1875 she was married to William H. Smith. To this union were born five children, Richard of Groton, New York, Addie E., deceased; George Smith, of Newton, Mrs. Mae Hatch and Robert S. Smith, also of newton.
The death of Mrs. Smith takes from the community one of the dearly beloved mothers and good woman. She was always in frail health and enjoyed the companionship of books and newspapers.
Funeral services will be private in compliance with her wishes. The will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home.
