Michael L. Boyd, 71, of Filley, formerly of Lincoln, died Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at his home. He was born on November 14, 1951, at Oskaloosa, IA and graduated from Newton, IA High School in 1969. On November 7, 1969, he married Peggy Ergenbright and they lived in Newton before moving to Lincoln. He worked for Cushman in Lincoln for 20 years and then delivered parts for O’Reilly Auto Parts for ten years. He and Peggy were also campground hosts for 25 years and enjoyed meeting people. Michael was a former member of the Eagles Club and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed going to the bike rally at Sturgis, but his passion was being with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Michael (Patty) Boyd of Emma, MO, Bambi (Jeff) Oestmann of Lincoln, and Eric Boyd of Filley; six grandchildren, Michael and wife, Taylor, Matthew and wife, Kayelynn, Morgan, Brooke, Michaela, and Justin; four great-grandchildren, Jax, Bennett, Audrey, and Crew; brother, Robert (Eunice) Boyd; nieces and nephews; special “daughter”, Patti Bye. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; father, Warren Boyd; mother, Violet (Sanders) House; step-father, Paul House; sister, Doris (Robert) Shoup.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Inurnment of the cremains will be at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln. Cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing or visitation.
