Doris June Nichol, 82, of Colfax died Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Mitchell village Care Center.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, at the Howard Street Christian Church, with burial following at McKeever Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.

The daughter of Homer Dewey and Lilas (Brown) Wadsworth, Doris was born on February 2, 1930 in Jasper County. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1948. On May 25, 1948, she was united in marriage to Furley Arnold “Bud” Nichol in Newton. Doris worked as an inspector at Maytag in Newton. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping.
Those left to honor her memory include her children: Donna (Richard) Teed of Colfax, Allen (Screech) Nichol of Prairie City, Robin Brenner of Colfax, Tim Nichol of Knoxville and Penny (Bub) Clark of Columbia; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a sister, Joyce (Lenard) Pierce of Colfax.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, a granddaughter, Chanda Nichol; her son-in-law, Harry Brenner, two brothers, Perry and Paul Wadsworth and a sister, Mary Jean Telfer.
