Charles Henry Morgan was born in Monmouthshire, England, January 18, 1850, and passed away April 17, 1929 at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 29 days.
He was united in marriage to Catherine Thomas on January 20, 1879 and came to America in 1881, settled in Ohio for 2 years, then moved to Colfax, Iowa, where he has resided ever since. To this union eight children were born, of whom five survive.
His wife Catherine died August 25, 1894 and three sons, two of which died in infancy and one son, Dave in 1918. Those living to mourn his loss are Mrs. Frank Bloomquist, Des Moines; John and Frank of Colfax; and Geo. and Earnest Morgan of Des Moines; sixteen grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Morgan has belonged to the Odd Fellow Lodge for over 40 years, and he and his wife were Charter Members of the Rebekah Lodge.
He was a kind and loving father always doing his very best for his children.

Rev. Clark conducted services at the Christian Church Friday at 2:00 o’clock. Odd Fellow Lodge services were given. Interment was held at McKeever cemetery.
