Ernest Clement, Farmer, Dies
Ernest M. Clement, 78, of 62 Maple St., died of a heart ailment Sunday at the Rowe Nursing Home, where he has been a patient two years. Mr. Clement had been ill 10 years.
Services will be at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, with burial in Ashland(sic) cemetery near Mingo. The time has not been set.
Born in Newton, Mr. Clement lived in Mingo and Rhodes before coming to Des Moines 10 years ago. He was a farmer before his retirement in 1937.
Survivors include two daughters, Newton. Vera DeReus of Runnells, and Bertha Loffgren of Oakland, Cal.; two sons, Emmett of Oakland, Cal., and Leonard of Maquoketa; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Love of Des Moines; three stepdaughters; one step-son; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
