Myrtle Tiffany, 94, of Maxwell, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012, at Story County Senior Care in Nevada.
Myrtle was born July 17, 1918, in Hillsboro, Iowa to Dick and Viola (Day) Whitaker. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1935 and married Joseph Tiffany on January 8, 1942, in Bethany, Missouri. Myrtle was a homemaker, and a member of the Collins Christian Church, C.W.F., a 54 year member of O.E.S. and a 60 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, baking and playing bridge.
Myrtle is survived by her children, John (Janet) Tiffany of Iowa City, Jackie (Roy) Peters of Woodward and Joe (Lauren) Tiffany of La Crosse, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Whitney (Darren) Renville, JoAnne (Terry Thompson) Caldwell, Jocelyn (Chris) Schlieman, Ryan (Jennifer) Peters, Christine (Randy) Guerra and Emma (Randy) Malm; her great-grandchildren, Devon, Connor and Tiffany York, Logan and Justin Schlieman, Reagan Peters, Lila and Addison Guerra.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her step-father, John Sprott; her sister, Zelah Clark; and her brother, Frank Whitaker.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell (422 First Street). Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2012, at the Collins Christian Church in Collins (303 Main Street in Collins) with Pastor Scott Jones officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Collins Christian Church or Southern Care Hospice, 2900 100th Street, Urbandale, IA 50322.
