Roy Snook died at his home January 10, after a few days illness of pneumonia, aged 24 years. He was born near Newton and with the exception of a few years in Polk county has resided in this county. May 9, 1912, he was united in marriage with Miss Pearl Maxwell. To this union one child, Alfred Leroy, was born. Mrs. Snook and baby were both ill and his death was such a shock to his wife who was not strong, that she followed him in death January 11. She was born July 23, 1889 and grew up in this township. She leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Maxwell, two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Owens of Elkhart; Mrs. Arch Galloway of Chester, Iowa; four brothers, Oscar, of Elk City, Idaho; Charley, Bert and Ira of this township, besides the little son and other relatives.
The funeral service was conducted at the home at 11:30 a.m. and they were laid to rest in one grave in the Ashton cemetery.
The little son is better and chances for his recovery are favorable. It is very sad and the families of the young people have the sympathy of all.
