The funeral of Mrs. Anzy Woods took place on the 23d, inst., from the residence of her son-in-law, C. W. Shaffer, in the western part of this township. She was born in ____ Burgoyne county, Ky. She moved with her mother, who was a widow, to Indiana when she was some 18 years of age. It was there she became acquainted with Jno. A. Woods to whom she was married, August 2, 1831.
They moved to Iowa and settled in this county in 1849 where they spent their long and successful life. She was the mother of six children, three of whom still live to mourn her removal.
She and her husband whom she buried Jan. 18, 1885, were both members of the Presbyterian church, having united while they were both young. They held their church relationship while they lived, and were always considered consistent members, and their departure was the more keenly felt by those who knew them best.
