Herbert “Herb” Dale Reynolds, 58, of Newton died on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials in Herb’s name (checks made payable to Brenda Reynolds) may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Herb, the son of Francis “Butch” and Leila (Logue) Reynolds, was born on May 8, 1964 in Newton. He was a lifelong resident of Newton. Herb worked at the Maytag Company for 22 years. On September 19, 1998, Herb was united in marriage with Brenda Lane in Newton. Most recently he was working for Newbury Living doing maintenance. Herb was born to be a handyman and could build, fix and make anything out of wood. He also loved to fish and had rescued eight squirrels.

Herb is survived by his wife, Brenda Reynolds of Newton; son, Tim Reynolds (Cynthia O’Hern) of Des Moines; step-daughter, Traci (Brandon) Bergfeld of Newton; grandsons, Dawson and Kai; his father, Butch Reynolds of Newton; siblings, Tonda (Ed) Eilander of Newton and Darla (Jeff) Sudbrink of Newton; and his nephews and niece, Rodney Eilander, Lacy (Michael) Bucklin, and Luke Sudbrink (Emmy Huebner). He was preceded in death by his mother, Leila Reynolds and nephew, Eric Eilander.
