Merle Bishop Rites at Baxter
Services for Merle Bishop, 46, of 1400 Tenth St., will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Baxter Congregational church, where he was a member. Burial will be in Independent [sic] cemetery at Baxter.
Mr. bishop died Friday at his home after suffering a stroke. He had been in ill health about two years.
Mr. Bishop was born at Baxter and lived there before coming to Des Moines two years ago, where he was employed as a real estate salesman. He was a member of the Baxter American Legion post.
Surviving are his widow, Katheryne; four brothers, Morris of Newton, Burl of Costa Mesa, Cal., Ralph of Sacramento, Cal., and Miles of Concord, Minn.; a stepbrother, Don, of Faribault, Minn., and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Brown of Maynard.
