Rose A. Koppin Dies Tuesday; Services Friday

Rose Alvina Koppin, 72, of 312 E. 4th St. S., a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died Tuesday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Johnson’s Funeral Chapel.

The Rev. William Welch of Wittemberg, Zoar and St. John’s of Haverhill Churches, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Thursday.

Survivors are four sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Elsie) Hutchinson of Kellogg, Mrs. Virgil (Esther) Lincoln of Grinnell, Mrs. Claire (Goldie) Schnell of Lynnville and Mrs. Thomas (Gladys) Birchard of Hillsboro, Ore.; two brothers, Glen & Walter, both of Newton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

The daughter of Charles F. and Lena Brune Koppin, she was born Feb. 5, 1901 northeast of Newton.

Miss Koppin resided on a farm in Jasper County until moving to Newton six and one-half years ago.

Note: Rose A. Koppin died 15 Jan 1974
