V. B. Clement Dies Sunday; Services Today
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock for Van Buren Clement, 67, who died at the Skiff Memorial hospital Sunday morning at 1:25 o’clock. Due to a heart ailment, he was a patient a week in the Broadlawns hospital in Des Moines before entering the local hospital May. 29.
Rites were conducted at the Morgan Funeral home by Rev. H. LeRoy Kinser with burial in Ashton Chapel cemetery at Baxter.
Mr. Clement had lived most of his life in Jasper county and was the first of a family of seven children to succumb.
Surviving are his wife of Des Moines, his son, Ray of Newton and three brothers and three sisters: Mrs. Ella Eshelman and Ed Clement of Des Moines, Mrs. Cynthia Stockenberg of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Myrtle Love of Des Moines, Daniel Clement of Newton and E. M. Clement, of Baxter.
