Funeral services for Ada L. Holeman Streeter, 83, of 208 1st. St. S., a resident of Newton since 1931, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 20, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. Raymond Barnett, pastor of the First Christian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Ashton Cemetery, west of Baxter.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. Visitation with the family will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society will be accepted.
She died Tuesday morning at the Embassy Manor Care Center.
Survivors are a son, Jack W. of Newton; a daughter, Se (Mrs. Robert) Nieuwenhuyse of Harve, Mont.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne Holeman of Galesburg, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl, July 27, 1974, a brother, Dale Holeman, and her sister, Pearl McGill.
Mrs. Streeter, a member of the First Christian Church, served as an ARC volunteer.
Mrs. Streeter had worked at the Maytag Co. and the Vernon Co. and for many years for Dr. George Mace and at Marshall Hardware Store.
The daughter of John and Martha Rose Tinder Holeman, she was born May 27, 1924 in Waukee.
She was married to F. Carl Streeter May 6, 1925 in Des Moines.
The Streeters had farmed near Mingo before moving to Sully where Mr. Streeter had taught school. They moved to Newton in 1931.
