H. A. Ferguson, Former Colfax Resident, Dies
Colfax – Harold Addison Ferguson, 69, of Glendale, Calif., a former resident of Colfax, died Tuesday at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Colfax Presbyterian Church.
Dr. H. J. Needing of Colfax, a retired minister, will conduct the services. Burial will be in McKeever Cemetery near Colfax.
Walters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife, Margaret; a son, Richard Ferguson of Colfax; a daughter, Mrs. Dale Noe of Colfax; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Snow of Wheaton, Ill., Mrs. Karl Moellering of Forest Park, Ill. and Mrs. Fredrick Hunsche of Kalamazoo, Mich.
Mr. Ferguson was a member of the Presbyterian Church. A veteran of World War I, he served on the famous Rainbow Division.
Mr. Ferguson was a retired factory worker, having been employed at both the Maytag Co. in Newton and the Monroe Co. in Colfax.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Ferguson, he was born Oct. 29, 1895 at Clarinda.
Mr. Ferguson came to Colfax in 1935 and moved to California in 1958.
He was married in 1928 to Elizabeth Patterson at Colfax. She died in 1951.
Mr. Ferguson was married to Margaret Shaffner Oct. 29, 1958 at Anaheim, Calif.
