George "Joe" Marshall
July 13, 1965 ~ November 26, 2022 (age 57)

George “Joe” William Marshall, 57, of Floris, Iowa, formerly of Newton, died on Saturday, November 26, 2022. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials to Discover Hope or Hope Ministries may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Joe, the son of James and Carol (Swan) Marshall, was born July 13, 1965 in Albia. As a child, he moved to Newton and attended Newton Community Schools. After high school he lived in Helena, Montana for a short time before moving back to Newton. Joe enjoyed making and selling leather goods with his dad. For the last several years, Joe lived with his aunt and uncle, Rich and Connie Closser, in Floris helping them while they faced health struggles. Even following Connie’s death in February, Joe continued to live with Rich. Joe loved to fish and was a really good cook. He also liked to ride his bike, listen to country music, tube down the river, and spend time in the mountains.

Joe is survived by his mom, Carol (Buzz) Kingery of Newton; father, James (Paulette) Marshall of Ferdinand, Idaho; brother, Tim (Libbie) Marshall of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; half-siblings, James, Brann, Cindy, Connie, and Debbie; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, including his uncle, Rich Closser of Floris.
