Mrs. H. C. Emery Dies Sunday; to Hold Rites Tuesday
Colfax – Mrs. Harrison Clifford (India Marie) Emery, 67, a resident of Colfax since 1925, died Sunday morning at her home in Colfax.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Walters Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Dale Nicholson, minister of the Colfax Methodist Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in McKeever Cemetery.
Mrs. Emery is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. George (Velma) Wall of Colfax, Mrs. Guy (Faye) Carter of Humboldt, Mrs. Raymond (Myrtle) Walker of Prairie City; a son, Donald Emery of Zearing; a foster son, Harold Conner of Newton; 10 grandchildren; a foster granddaughter; a great grandchild; three brothers, Claude DeReus of Valeria, Ray DeReus of Runnells and Roy DeReus of Winterhaven, Fla., and three sisters, Mrs. Ray Thomas of Colfax, Mrs. Lee Ruggles of Prairie City and Mrs. Sheldon Riley of Minneapolis, Minn.
Mrs. Emery was a member of the Colfax Methodist Church.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter DeReus, she was born June 26, 1895 at Valeria.
Educated in Valeria schools, she was married to Harrison Clifford (Cliff) Emery, April 10, 1913 in Des Moines.
A lifelong resident of Jasper County, she resided in Colfax since 1925.
