Mrs. Arthur Bain Dies in Missouri; Services Monday
Colfax – Mrs. Arthur G. (Nora) Bain, 78, a former resident of Colfax, died this morning in a nursing home in Butler, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Colfax Methodist Church.
The Rev. Laurence Garrett, minister of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in McKeever Cemetery near Colfax.
Mrs. Bain will lie in state after 7 p.m. Saturday in Walter’s Funeral Home in Colfax.
Survivor is a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Winfrey of Kansas City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1929.
Mrs. Bain was a member of Colfax Methodist Church and Colfax order of Eastern Star.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Howe, she was born June 14, 1890 at Beatrice, Neb.
She was married to Arthur G. Bain Dec. 25, 1914 at Colfax.
Mrs. Bain, who spent most of her life in Des Moines, taught school in several Iowa towns including Knoxville and Bondurant.
