PRAIRIE CITY - Bessie "Bess" Van Dusseldorp, 93, of Pella and formerly of Prairie City, died Monday, Dec. 17, at Pella Regional Health Center.

Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at First Reformed Church in Prairie City, Pastor Joel Brummel officiating. Burial: Waveland Cemetery, Prairie City. Visiting hours begin noon Thursday at Walters Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City, with family present 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday. Memorials: First Reformed Church, Prairie City.

Bessie Van Dusseldorp was born May 11, 1908, in Palco, Kan. to Leonard and Tillie DeJong Jabaai. She married Leo Van Dusseldorp on Feb. 23, 1939, in Prairie City. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Prairie City, and the church's Faith and Mission Circle. She enjoyed baking pies and won several awards at the Jasper County Fair for her pies.

She is survived by her husband, Leo, of Pella; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Elaine and Bert E. Bandstra of Oskaloosa, Janice Swenson of Clive, and Charlotte and David McClellan of Prairie City; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother and two sisters-in-law: Ben and Gertrude Lourens of Prairie City and Marie Jabaai of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Nettie and Mary; five brothers: Arie, Cornelius, Marion, Clarence and David; a son-in-law, Bill E. Swenson; and a granddaughter, Diane Bandstra.

PELLA — Bessie "Bess" Van Dusseldorp, 93, of Pella, formerly of Prairie City, died from a heart ailment Monday, Dec. 17, at the Pella Regional Health Center in Pella.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the First Reformed Church in Prairie City with the Rev. Joel Brummel officiating. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City is handling arrangements.

Friends may call after noon at the funeral home where family will be available from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The daughter of Leonard and Tillie De Jong Jabaai, she was born May 11, 1908, in Palco, Kan.

On Feb. 23, 1939, she married Leo Van Dusseldorp in Prairie City.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Prairie City and of the Faith and Mission Circle group of the church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed making pies and won several awards at the Jasper County Fair.
